Raylon "Roger" Howell

October 31, 1967 — February 23, 2023

Beloved husband and father Raylon “Roger” Howell, age 55, of Bulverde, Texas sailed into the pearly gates of Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior on February 23, 2023.

Roger was born in Kennedale, Texas to Joe Howell, Sr. and Marilyn Howell. He attended Midland High School and graduated in 1986. He earned his associate degree at Midland College and furthered his education in Aviation Technology.

He met the love of his life and best friend, Patricia, and they were married on August 25th, 2001, and shared 4 beautiful children together.

Roger was employed by Textron for over 22 years. He made many friends whom he considered family. He had a passion for sailing and loved fishing. He loved being around family and especially loved playing darts and cards with his brothers-in-law, Joel and Michael. Roger was a quiet man and a hero to his family. He had a heart of gold and was a selfless man who would do anything for anyone. He was our ‘go to’ to fix anything. He will be truly missed by all of his family and friends.

Roger is survived by his parents, Joe and Marilyn Howell, his beloved wife Patricia Howell, their four children: Ryan Howell of San Antonio, Texas, Kimberly Melendez of San Antonio, Texas, Chris Melendez of Odessa, Texas, and Jeremy Melendez of San Antonio, Texas. Roger also leaves behind his siblings, Perry Lynn Howell, Jodi Lawrence Howell, and Nica Deann Vanice, and his grandchildren: Jaden Melendez, Jervon Gay, Alesa Hope Cruz, Jeremiah Melendez, Ernie Melendez, Fabien Melendez, Xavier Melendez, Raylon Scott Howell III, and Nolan Xander Howell.

Roger is preceded in death by his brother David Howell.

The Funeral Service will be held at Schertz Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 12:00 PM, with the Visitation beginning at 11:00 AM.

We would like to thank our friends and family for all of the love and support they have given during this difficult time. Prayers for peace and comfort are greatly appreciated.

John 16:22—
