He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1948, and set off to serve his country and see the world. He spent the next twenty seven years in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. His duty stations included Anchorage, Alaska, Washington, D.C., Mexico City, Mexico, Ankara, Turkey, Paris, France, and Abilene, Texas. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, he earned a degree in Accounting from the University of Texas - San Antonio in 1978. He entered into business for himself as an accountant and bookkeeper, solving problems for clients large and small.
He was an extremely proud father and grandfather. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and a regular game of golf. He made friends wherever he went. All who knew him know his love of country, and the men and women who serve it in the United States Armed Forces.
