Ramon Isidoro Ramirez was called by the Lord on September 21, 2021. Ramon lived a long, eventful, and rewarding life of 88 years. A husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, instructor, and barber, Ramon was born on March 31, 1933 to Amador and Josefa Garza Ramirez, in Oilton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. He was raised in Laredo, Texas where he lived until April 1953, when he joined the U.S. Air Force. As a Korean War era veteran, he served as a ‘scanner’ on the B-29 Superfortress, until April 1957 when he was honorably discharged. He worked as a vocational instructor at the Texas A&M University Technical School, San Antonio Branch for several years. For the majority of his adult life, Ramon worked as a barber, where he owned the Randolph Air Force Base Officer’s Club Barber Shop and UC Barbershop in Universal City, Texas. On November 27, 1955, Ramon married the love of his life, Josefina Rodriquez. They were married for 66 years. After retiring from barbering, he enjoyed the remaining years of his life with his daughter, Anna; son, Rene; grand children and great grand-children. Ramon was a man of wisdom and interesting experiences in life. He was never wanting of an interesting or entertaining story. In the latter years of his life, as the tempo around him started to slow down, he was a great joy and pleasure to be around. He was very proud of his heritage and legacy. Raised in the Catholic faith, Ramon received the Sacrament of Anointing prior to his passing. His desire in departure from this life, was to perish at home and in his sleep. He was blessed with both. Ramon is survived by his wife, Josefina Ramirez; daughter Anna Coronado (husband Rick); son, Rene Ramirez (wife Cindi), grandchildren Josephine Barrera (Luis); Natasha Sanchez (Jaime); Annalisa Salinas (Ernesto); Dannielle Baugh (Matt); Chris, and Steven; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Ramon will be sorely missed by those who knew him, but his loving memory will remain forever. Ramon will be interned at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
