Ralph Carl Boehnemann died on April 8, 2014 at 9:07AM at his home in Cibolo, Texas at the age of 98 yrs. 201 days. He was born on September 18, 1915 in Burton, Texas. He was baptized on February 13, 1916 at Greenvine, Texas in the Lutheran Church. He moved to Beasley in 1917. He was confirmed and married to his first wife, Elda Ognoskie at Hope Lutheran Church in Beasley. He married his second wife, Berleene Nichter on December 28, 1985 In Rosenberg He was a rural letter carrier and farmer. He was an avid fisherman, loved gardening and enjoyed watching all sports. His late life activities included hours of doing crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. He was very active at Hope Lutheran Church and was the last living founding member. He was involved in numerous organizations-PTA, Farm Bureau, AARP, NAPFE, VFW, American Legion and the National Rural Letter Carriers Assn. He was the last surviving member of the 597th Army Postal Unit. He was preceded in death by parents Ernest and Martha Boehnemann; spouses Elda Ognoskie Boehnemann and Berleene Nichter Boehnemann; son Ralph Boehnemann Jr.; sister Thekla Blase Meinecke and an infant brother. He is survived by his daughter Pat and husband Rey Joy Pfannstiel of Cibolo; step-daughters Judy and husband Bub Talaseks of Rosenberg, Gaynell Psencik of Rosenberg; sister Loretta Engeling of Austin; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday April 11, 2014 at Schertz Funeral Home at 2217 FM 3009 in Schertz, Texas. A second Viewing will be held from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home at 1201 4th Street in Rosenberg, Texas with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00AM. Interment to follow at the Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery in Beasley, Texas. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Church 108 S. Main St. Cibolo, Texas 78108.
