Priscilla Elaine Marsilio

April 27, 1949 — August 12, 2024

Garden Ridge, Texas

Priscilla Elaine Marsilio passed away on August 12, 2024 at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, at the age of 75. Born in Dallas, Texas, on April 27, 1949 to Roy and Mertie Lou Cherry, who preceded her in death, she resided in Garden Ridge, Texas for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Joseph Marsilio, her son, Joseph Jr., her daughter, Elaine, and her grandson, Brody.

Priscilla graduated from Harding College, Searcy, Arkansas, and began her career as a buyer at Army and Air Force Exchange Service headquarters in Dallas. She soon moved to San Antonio for a position with the Air Force Military Personnel Center, Randolph Air Force Base, where she became a contracting officer managing worldwide procurement contracts. Thereafter, Priscilla relocated as a contracting officer with the Army Adjutant General Center, Washington, D.C., during which time she married. Shortly thereafter, her husband, a U.S. Air Force officer, was reassigned to Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, and Priscilla became contracting director at the Army's Hale Koa Hotel on Waikiki Beach. Upon return to Washington, D.C., she took positions at the Department of Energy and the Pentagon. Moving with her husband again, Priscilla held contracting officer positions at Randolph Air Force Base and Fort Sam Houston. She retired from federal civil service in 2012.

Priscilla was also a dedicated wife and mother who left an indelible mark on her family’s future, having guided many aspects of home and family life. She enjoyed traveling and organized family trips to Alaska, Europe, Canada and Key West. She and her husband have owned many recreational vehicles over the years. Her greatest joy was to be out on sunny days, especially to Corpus Christi where her grandmother’s childhood home is preserved in the city's Heritage Park. She showed enormous bravery and courage in the face of many serious health challenges, always pushing forward despite severe physical limitations.

Priscilla’s sweet but strong and resilient personality will never be forgotten by her family and friends. She will live in our hearts forever.
