Patrick Mechler

Patrick Lawrence Mechler, age 70, passed away Monday, March 30, 2017, at his home in Converse, Texas.

Pat was born in Kenedy, Texas to Lawrence and Mary Mechler on January 7, 1947. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1965. He entered the US Army in January 1966, retiring after over 20 years of service. He then went to work for the US Postal Service, from which he retired in 2004.

Pat was an avid bowling enthusiast, serving as Secretary/Treasurer on several leagues.

Pat is survived by sister Ann White of Elgin, Texas; sister Vivian Wertz (Clete) of San Antonio; brother Mike Mechler (Vickie) of New Braunfels; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by parents and son Patrick Mechler II.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 1:15 PM, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with full military honors.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pat's name to Wounded Warriors Project.
