Patricia was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 28, 1943. She was educated at Saint Gerard's Catholic Church along with her sisters and brother. Patricia was a homemaker, she worked in a day care for a few years, but she mostly enjoyed watching over countless children at home. The Lord took her home on July 24, 2017 to be reunited with her mother and father, Albina and Edward Scholtz, sister Edwina Sievers, and brother Edward Scholtz Jr. She leaves behind her husband of fifty-seven years, Henry Fredrick Schmidt IV; her children: Henry Fredrick Schmidt V and his wife Suzanne, Jeffrey K. Schmidt and partner Tabby, Sharon L. O'Haver and husband Shawn, and Valorie A. Schmidt; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Sarah, Henry VI, Roselyn, Harley, Zechariah, Easton, Samantha, and Gabrielle; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Ann and husband Hugh Woodchick, Agnes Janysek, and Frank Sievers; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
Patricia was an incredible cook, fisherwoman, wife and mother. Her passion was taking care of children of all ages, and she will be remembered as one of the kindest, most respected, and loving people among friends and family. She never knew a stranger. She was a strong and faithful person, trusting in God to guide her through all of her battles and triumphs. Words cannot express what she has meant to everyone who was blessed to know her and how much she will be missed.
Patricia's wish was to be cremated. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at St. Helena's Catholic Church, with a Rosary being recited immediately before at 10:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made in Patricia's honor to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
