Patricia Catlin

Patricia Catlin passed away December 13, 2009 at the age of 58. She was born November 24, 1951 in Newport, Arkansas, fifteen minutes before her identical twin, Penelope. Her parents, Everett & Glenna Kay moved the family to Michigan in 1953, finally settling in Grant, Michigan in 1958. Patricia became a Registered Nurse in 1974 and spent the next 16 years travelling overseas and working in U.S. Military Hospitals and Clinics in Okinawa, Germany and Panama. In Panama, she met Russell Catlin, whom she married 2 years later. They moved to San Antonio in 1992 and relocated to Cibolo in 2005. Patricia continued working as a Registered Nurse at BAMCs Hemodialysis Unit until 2005 when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Her strong faith, Spirit and positive attitude, plus the loving support of her husband, family and friends speeded her recovery. Patricia enjoyed gardening and was a Texas Master Gardener. She loved spending quality time with her 2 grandchildren, Orion and Maia, and loved travelling with & working on projects with her husband, Russ. Patricia was preceded in death by her twin sister, Penelope, and her parents, Everett & Glenna Kay. She is survived by her devoted husband, Russell Catlin, her brother, Michael Kay & wife, Milli of Grant Michigan; her step-son Jeffrey Catlin and Samantha Harte of Austin; her step-daughter, Jennifer Medina of Converse, Texas and two grandchildren Orion and Maia Medina. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to: Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Program.
