Pamela “Pam” Ann Peoples, 63, passed away at her home in Cibolo, TX on December 19, 2022. Born on March 5, 1959 to Eula and William Peoples, Pam spent her childhood in her hometown of Abilene, TX. After graduating from Abilene High School, she joined the military in September of 1978.
Pam dedicated 24 years of her life to the United States Air Force, retiring in 2002 as a MSgt. While serving, Pam excelled in the personnel field due to her dedication, work ethic, and ability to work with people. As a SSgt, she became the branch chief of Command Records Branch at Headquarters Air Training Command, Randolph AFB, TX. While working for the 96th Mission Support Squadron at Dyess AFB, Texas, Pam was selected 96th Wing Personnel Technician of the Year for two consecutive years (1991 and 1992). Less than one year after returning to Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Randolph AFB, she became Chief of Officer Promotions and Evaluations. In 1995, Pam was recognized as HQ AETC SNCO Personnel Manager of the Year. Finally, she ended her military career in 2002 while working at HQ Air Force Personnel Center, Randolph AFB, Texas.
Post retirement, Pam continued to serve as a civilian on Randolph AFB. She wore many hats including: Requirements Writer Military/Civilian, Pay Adjustments, Mass Processes, Tech Support, Testing, and Staffing Support. Pam ended her career with DTA as a Civilian Team/Information Specialist. If ever an old email needed to be found, her coworkers could ask Pam to search her archives. An established foodie, she was also famous for her file folder of to-go menus from local restaurants. Her entire office would search through her files to find new and exciting places to eat.
Everybody was welcomed at Pam’s table with open arms. She always had an available seat and believed in nothing more than she believed in breaking bread with others. Pam cherished her family, blood and created. She was a beacon of joy and laughter to every person she met. Bold, intelligent, and funny, Pam had a story for every single occasion. She could make you smile with your whole heart and cry with your whole soul. To know Pam was to love her, and that love continues on with the plethora of people she touched throughout her lifetime.
