Olivia Cruz

? Olivia Rodriguez De La Cruz passed away peacefully in her home on March 31, 2017. Olivia was born in Laredo, Texas on April 16, 1928, and had resided in Schertz, Texas for the past 44 years.

Olivia grew up in Laredo and attended Martin High School. She was a full-time mother and also worked for a brief time at Richter's Department Store. When the Laredo Air Force Base closed in 1973, Olivia's family was transferred to Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. She was a devout Christian, and a member of the Church of the First Born, SA in Schertz.

Olivia was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Maria del Refugio Rodriguez; her brothers, Juan Rodriguez (Hilda) and Lorenzo Rodriguez, Jr. (Manuela Irene) and by the father of her children, Fernando Manuel De La Cruz.

She is survived by her six children: Rosie Garcia (Guillermo), Laura Castillo (Alfredo), Adriana Pena, Sandra Cruce, Fernando Manuel De La Cruz, Jr., and Glenda Alvarado (Nicholas); nine grandchildren: Celina Hernandez (Richard), Jaime Garcia (Alexandra), Christina Nebel (Paul), Melissa Campion (Collin), Elisa Alvarado, Meagan De La Cruz, Alyssa Becker (Trent), Danielle Alvarado and Michael Juarez; eight great grandchildren: Richard Cade Hernandez, Emma Nicole Pitre, Samuel Becker, Aliya Rose Campion,

Emalie Grace Hernandez, Evelyn Claire Campion, Ethan Luke Hernandez; James Becker, and her five siblings: Maria Magdalena Sanchez (Martin), Irene Covarrubias (Porfirio), Elida Maldonado (Agustin), Hermelinda Gonzalez (Jesus) and Jose Ramiro Rodriguez (Diana).

A service in Olivia's honor will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 12:00 PM.
