Ofelia Garza

Ofelia Garza, 80, died peacefully on August 14, 2012. She was surrounded by her family who loved her deeply, at her home, in Schertz, Texas. She was born February 28, 1932 in San Marcos, Texas. Mrs. Garza is survived by 5 daughters and 1 son and their spouses, June Cerda, Gilbert and Teresa Garza, Elsa and Joe Cortez, Sandra and David Jimenez, Michelle and Billy Courtney, Veronica and Jeff Goldhorn; 17 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcos M. Garza Jr; her sisters, Aurora Hernandez, Maria Velasquez, Amelia Machado, and her brother, Marcelo Hernandez. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Odyssey Hospice in San Marcos. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 5:00-9:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home. A Mass will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10:00am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Schertz. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
