Octaviano Garza
June 24, 1970 — July 8, 2015
Octaviano "Victor" Garza, Jr. passed away peacefully with family by his side on July 8, 2015, after a 16 year battle with Multiple Myeloma. "Junior", as he was known to family and many close friends, was born on June 24, 1970 to Octaviano Garza, Sr. and Yolanda Garza. He did not know a stranger and touched the lives of many; however, his family was always his priority. When he was not working, he was sure to be spending time with his wife, Jeanette, or his sons, Nathan and Justin. He had many activities that brought him joy such as, watching his sons play baseball, teaching them how to ride horses, going to the coast to fish, or heading out for a camping trip in the family RV. He lived life to the fullest and was always looking for the next adventure to explore his entrepreneurial spirit, or the opportunity to help someone in need. Junior is predeceased by his father, Octaviano Garza, Sr. and mother-in-law, Dorothy Bishop. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; sons, Nathan, and Justin; mother, Yolanda; sister, Yessenia (Jess) Zambrano, and her children, Samantha, and Troy; sister-in-law,Julie Smith, and husband, Jeff , their two children, Tyler and Emily; brother-in-law, John Bishop, and wife, Dawn, and their two children, Ryan and Lindsey, in addition to many other loved ones in his extended family. The family would like to thank Kennametal for allowing Victor to work until the very end, and they also extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Zweibach and his clinical staff for the wonderful care over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
