Norman David Harrell, a cherished soul born in Mount Pleasant, Texas, embarked on a remarkable journey through life, marked by love, service, and faith.
His early days as a milkman led him to the doorstep of his beloved Euna Webb, sparking a romance that flourished into 73 years of marriage. In 1950, Norman answered the call of duty and joined the United States Air Force. His 23 years of dedicated service to his country were marked by honor and commitment. Following his military career, Norman continued to serve the community through his work in civil service, eventually retiring to focus on his personal passions and family. A devout member of the Schertz United Methodist Church, Norman's faith and spirit of volunteerism shone brightly. He held various volunteer positions, touching the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
Norman's role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather was imbued with love and guidance, leaving a lasting impact on his family. Norman's legacy is one of gentle strength and unwavering faith. His favorite pastime was creating memories with his family, and he will be remembered as a gentle giant who lived a life of reverence for God. He is survived by his loving wife Euna; his children: Gale Beck and Brian Harrell; his grandchildren: Joshua Alexander, David Beck, Lori Beck Gilbert, Corey Harrell, and Jacob Harrell; and his great-grandchildren: Gwen, Aspen, and Aubri. Norman was predeceased by his daughter Donna Alexander and grandson Christopher Sonnenburg.
The Harrell family warmly invites friends and loved ones to join in celebrating Norman's remarkable life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, from 5-8pm. The funeral service is scheduled at Schertz United Methodist Church, FM3009, Schertz, TX, on Friday, August 16, at 9:30 am, with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
