Norman Dean Arndt, 79, a long-time resident of the Schertz area, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, 25 July 2015. Norman was born on 6 July 1936 in Sullivan, Ohio to Carlos and Alta Arndt. He graduated from Elyria High School in 1956 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician. After retiring from the Air Force, Norm became a small business owner/operator when he bought United Copy Service in Universal City, Texas. In May 2007, he sold the copy service and retired to a life of travel. He and his loving wife, Joan, traveled the country visiting family and friends. Norm was preceded in death by his wife Joan and son, Dale Lee Arndt. He is survived by son David and his wife Christina of Florida; son Andy of San Antonio; and Dale's wife, Kathleen of Cibolo. His grandchildren include Steven, Shannon and husband Dhrumil, David, Matthew, Ryan, Allyson, Jeremy, Stefan, Kayla and husband Jon. The family will receive friends on Monday, 3 August 2015 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, 4 August 2015, at 11:30AM in the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
