Nora Rodriguez Nash, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Schertz, Texas. She was born to Tomas Rodriguez, Sr. and Clara Flores on April 6, 1934 in Laredo, TX.
Mrs. Nash was predeceased by, her parents and her infant sister, Elma; her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Shirl; and her faithful companion Walter Galligan.
She was a resident of Schertz since 1966 and attended and worked at Good Shephard Catholic Church. She was most proud of her work in Civil Service as an executive secretary for the U.S. Air Force Chaplain Corp headquartered at Randolph AFB.She was always active in school events supporting her children and grandchildren in their band and various sporting activities. One could always count on Mom and Dad to man the concession stands during football season, at least until the marching band took the field.
She and her husband Shirl loved to bowl and for many years were the reigning King and Queen of the Marion 9 Pin Bowling Club. They enjoyed traveling to other area 9 pin bowling alleys representing Marion in the competitions. Their love of bowling rubbed off on their children and it became the family sport. Even years later, our family would get together to bowl and enjoy friendly competition and bantering during the games.
