Nora A. Katsigiannis, (Reimer), 88, of Cibolo, TX passed away peacefully, after a long battle with Dementia, at her son’s home on March 31st, 2025. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 24th, 1936, to Edwin and Edna Reimer.
She lived most of her life in Hazel Park and Sterling Hts, Michigan, where she enjoyed waitressing, bowling, playing cards and most importantly, raising her 5 children and being surrounded by her loving family. In 2019 Nora moved to Texas, to be with her son and his wife, who were also her caregivers. Being raised as the only daughter with 5 brothers made her quite the “one tough cookie”, as she’d put it. Nora sported a very charming and witty personality that made her liked by anyone she ever encountered. She generated many favorite sayings that are often used by family and friends, but the top one was, if anyone asked where she was going or where she had been, it was always “9-Mile and Mack”.
She is survived by her son Michael Rowland and Daughter-in-law Dayna Rowland (Richards), her former daughter-in-law’s Tamara Koehler and Debra Lane. She was the proud Grandmother of Bill Jordan (Diane), Tim Sharpe Jr (Kim), Cari Sharpe, Jennifer Rowland, Charles Rowland Jr, Jamie Jordan, Jon DeMartinis (Megan), Melissa Rowland Weaver (Sean), and Ricky Rowland Jr. She’s also survived by 12 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren, all who she loved dearly.
Preceded in death were her parents Edwin and Edna Reimer, Spouse Chris Katsigiannis, her 5 brothers, Jack Reimer (Rose), Bill Reimer, Roger Reimer, Leonard Reimer, and Randy Reimer, 4 of her children, Sharon Jordan, Lois Sharpe, Chuck Rowland Sr, and Ricky Rowland.
Cremation was handled by the loving folks at Schertz Funeral Home, Schertz TX. Interment will be at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, Michigan.
Celebrations of life will be held at a later date in Texas and Michigan.
