Nicki Giglio

Nicki Sue Giglio, an active employee of the University Health Systems Nurselink, died Saturday morning in her home in San Antonio. She was 62. Nicki was born April 2, 1951 in Terre Haute Indiana. She studied nursing at the Saint Anthony Hospital School of Nursing in Terre Haute, graduating in May 1974. Nicki relocated several times to care for ailing family members, residing in Watseka, Illinois; Richmond, Virginia; and San Antonio, TX. Nicki loved helping people and was passionate about being a nurse. She continued her education by receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word in December 1998. Nicki was preceded in death by her father, James Dean Giglio, and mother, Doris Marie (Campbell) Giglio. She is survived by her brother, James D Giglio II and his wife Joanna, of Los Lunas, New Mexico; her sister, Ann Marie (Giglio Brunotte) Lacey and her partner Floyd (Gene) Dwiggins of Blanco, Texas; and her nieces and nephews, Joshua Matthew Brunotte and his wife Miki of Kaizu-shi, Japan; Jana Ravencroft Lowery of Fort Worth, Texas; Nicholas James Brunotte of San Antonio, Texas; James Dean Giglio III of Spokane, Washington, and Nicholas Eugene Dwiggins of Blanco, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Trinity Church, 5415 N. Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, Texas. All services will conclude at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in memory of Nicki to the American Diabetes Association.
