Nelda Chestnut

Nelda W. Chestnut, born February 18, 1925 in Leesburg, MS, passed away on February 19, 2017, in Garden Ridge, TX at the age of 92. Nelda is preceded in death by her husband Clifton Chestnut. She is survived by her children Timothy Chestnut, wife Janet, James Robert "Bobby" Chestnut, Elizabeth Faye Jackson, husband Clyde, Barbara Jean Arispe, husband Robert, and Deborah Ann Solis, husband Rene. She also leaves behind 2 brothers Olan and Nolan Munn, 2 sisters Opal Everette and Jestine Sullivan; 11 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren, 1 great- great grandchild, and 4 very special friends Elaine, Terry, Pat, and Kathy. Nelda was a waitress for many years serving at Circle K, Hungry Farmer, and Kountry Kitchen, many also knew her as the manager of the Starlite Drive-In Theatre. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel, with the interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
