Nancy Harm

October 1, 1937 — June 13, 2010

Nancy V. Harm went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2010 at the age of 72 after a lengthy illness. A long-time resident of Schertz, Texas and a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Nancy actively served as one of the first female ushers at Concordia. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 1, 1937 and was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Mary Cischke. She is survived by her husband, William Thomas Harm; sons, Thomas Harm & wife, Lynne, Timothy Harm & wife, Kimberly, Richard Harm & wife, Yvette and Danny Harm & wife, Annie; daughter, Cathy Harm & partner, Tracey Blackwell; grandchildren, Kimberly Harm-Brown & husband, Chad Brown, Chad Van Cleave, Brittany Harm-Jeanes & husband, Danny Jeanes, Justin Harm, Austin Blackwell, Chase Blackwell, Blake Harm and Paige Harm; great grand-daughter, Lilly Van Cleave; sisters, Shirley Hope & husband, George, Marlene Leegstra & husband, Burt; brother, Alfred Cischke and wife Annie. Nancy had a highly successful and extensive career in real estate. She began as a licensed agent and quickly expanded into a residential and corporate relocation specialist. In this role, she earned CRS, GRL and LTG designations and attended Wickman TNG. She was a member of San Antonio Board of Realtors, member of Texas Real Estate Commission, Branch Manager for Coldwell Banker, Director of SABOR Grievance & Professional Standards Committee from 1995 " 1999 and President of the San Antonio Womens Council of Realtors in 1996. Nancy was very instrumental in the growth of Buffalo Valley Youth Association (BVYA), a non-profit youth sports program for Schertz and surrounding communities. With her husband being one of its founding fathers, Nancy held many positions during BVYAs formative years to include Treasurer, Fund Raising Chairperson, and Business Manager for girls softball tournament teams. In light of a successful business career and commitment to the BVYA Youth program, Nancys primary focus has always been her family and children. We will miss all the joy she brought to her family and the generosity she blessed us and so many others with. She was the glue that kept us all together. We love you, Mom. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Concordia Lutheran Church 16801 Huebner Road, San Antonio, TX 78258. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 17501 Nacogdoches Road in Selma, Texas. Flowers may be sent to Schertz Funeral Home at 2217 F.M. 3009 in Schertz, Texas or donations may be sent in Nancys honor to the Alzheimers Association at Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090-6011.
