Nancy Jo Brown, 67, of Schertz, a beloved figure in the community, passed away on July 10, 2024 after a long and brave battle with breast cancer. Known for her kindness, caring, and always with a smile, she lived a full and wonderful life. 

Born in Detroit, MI to loving parents Allan and Arlene Black; she went to high school in Paramus, NJ and East Lansing, MI. A proud graduate of Michigan State University, she married the love of her life, Tim in 1979 and began her journey as an Air Force spouse. There she volunteered in many roles and was proud of her duties as a Family Services Counselor. She loved the military lifestyle and lived in Washington state, North Carolina, Hawaii and became a proud Texan calling Schertz home in 2000. 

She was an associate Life Member of the USAF Combat Control Association, volunteering for many events over the years. In 2003 she earned her real estate licence in Texas and joined Tim after his retirement as a full time Realtor. Her professional dreams were fulfilled when they opened RE/MAX Corridor in 2011. Here she shined as a vibrant member of the Schertz Cibolo Selma Area Chamber of Commerce and community as well as many professional organizations. 

Nancy loved to cook, garden and craft, and adored her cats. She was predeceased by her Mother Arlene and Father Allan. She is survived by her loving husband Tim, her sisters Becky Johnson and Susan Black of Kent, WA and her “twin” niece Wendy Johnson of Seattle, WA. 

Service will be held July 29, 2024 at Schertz Funeral home at 4 PM followed by a reception at the Bluebonnet Palace in Selma. 

In lieu of flowers, you would honor her with a donation to either the Children's Miracle Network or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
