Msgt Taber

MSgt James "Jim" G. Taber, USAF (Ret.) was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 8, 1933 and passed away on June 18, 2014 at the age of 81. Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1953, where he met Sue, his wife of 60 years. Jim served in Vietnam and received the Bronze Star along with several other medals during his military career. After Jim retired, he began his civil service at Randolph AFB where he was Flight Chief of the Accessories Flight. After retiring in 1995, Jim continued to work for LSI at Randolph AFB and St. Phillips College. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Doris Taber and son, James, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Sue Taber; daughters, Debra Pihota and Ginger Jackson; brother, Earl Taber and wife, Marylou; sister, Faye Swindel; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Schertz Funeral Home from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Schertz Funeral Home at 10:00AM. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with USAF Honors.
