Michelle Neumann was born Michelle Gant on December 20, 1972 in Scottsboro, Alabama. She lived a passionate life of love, empathy, kindness and devotion. She passed away into Heaven on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 6:03 PM. She is survived by her loving husband Robert Neumann and her adoring sons, Matthew Neumann and Cristian Neumann, as well as her sisters, Angie Waters and Renée Gonzalez.
Michelle grew up with a fiery spirit as a bit of a tomboy in her earlier years, as her family moved around and eventually settled in Laredo, TX. There, she met her husband, Robert, the luckiest man in the world. The two eventually found an excuse to meet on March 16, 1992, and their love “hit them like a ton of bricks”, as she used to say. They were married on September 16, 1992, at 4:06 PM, in San Antonio, TX, where they were attending college. She often told Robert that theirs would be the greatest love story ever. Michelle graduated with honors from San Antonio College in 2002. She had a passion for literature and poetry, and she graduated from UTSA with a BA in English in May, 2005. Michelle brought two amazing sons into this world around this time, and she was hooked. Matt and Cris were the center of her life, and she was a devoted, loving mother and a fierce advocate for her boys. She homeschooled them, and worked towards a master’s degree in Literature at UTSA. She eventually had to stop just short of here MA to focus on homeschooling and her family due to coping with her autoimmune diseases.
Michelle tried to live fully, never wanting to waste her time in the past, never feeling sorry for herself, just others. Many people she met never knew she was sick, because her passion for life defined her, not her condition. Michelle was very active with her boys, giving them all of herself and many adventures along the way. She always pushed herself past her limits to create the best life for her family. She became an advocate for those who were suffering with medical issues, but otherwise looked normal. Michelle always was strong and supportive, but inside was hurting and needed support herself. She continued being a devoted, loving wife, mother and teacher, homeschooling her boys until illness kept her away.
She fought long and hard to make it back to all three of her boys, but God needed his Angel back with Him. She will be dearly missed and loved always.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, 2:00pm, at the Schertz Funeral Home chapel with the interment to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Cemetery in New Braunfels, TX.
