Merle Behne

Merle Ruth (Moehrig) Behne died peacefully in her sleep on August 9, 2016 at her home in Schertz. Merle was born March 19, 1927 to parents Edwin Moehrig and Elsie Schneider who preceded her in death, along with her husband Roger. She is survived by her sister LaVerne Whatley and children Roger Curtis, Terry Neil, Rockne Wade and wife Marilyn, and Jill Marie and husband Terence Wyse, grandchildren Chemene, Lucas and wife Van, Tiffany and husband Robert Richards, Travis and wife Jordan, Silke, Lorelle, Mitchell, Myah, Mylan and great grandchildren Daniel, Ryan and Skylar. Merle belonged to Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she was active as an usher, Parish Council, chorus, lector and Eucharistic Minister. She also served in various capacities for the Knights of Columbus. She attended Blessed Sacrament Academy, St. Mary and San Antonio Vocational and Technical School and Draughan's Business College in San Antonio. A Visitation will be held from 2PM-9PM on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Schertz Funeral Home with a Rosary being recited at 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Interment at Schneider Memorial Cemetery will be at a later date.
