Meredith Ann Place passed away on Saturday, June 3 at the age of 89 after a brief illness. She was born to Roland Wildes and Evelyn (White) Sundby on June 18, 1933 in Warrens, Wisconsin.
She married Kenneth George Place on November 14, 1953. Mrs. Place accompanied her husband in military assignments in Washington D.C, Maine, Germany, Illinois, and Texas where MSgt Kenneth Place retired.
She worked as an administrative assistant for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Later, she worked as an administrative assistant and as a computer programmer for 22 years on Randolph Air Force Base. She was a member of the Universal City United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she sang in the Church Choir for 40 years. She loved the Lord and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include two sons Keith Thomas Place of Schertz, her full-time caregiver, and Paul Kenneth Place and wife Dee of Judsonia, Arkansas; grandchildren: Rochelle Choe Place of Judsonia, AR and Matthew Jae Place and his wife Lauren and their three children: Connor, Claire, and Caitlyn Wildes of Milton, FL and Andrew Ryan Place of Schertz, Texas, brothers Thomas Wildes and wife Joyce and Dennis Wildes and wife Mary of Webster, WI, and Steven Sundby and wife Julie of Verona, WI.
A memorial service will be held later, and she will be buried alongside her husband at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements by the Schertz Funeral Home.
