Mary Kathrine Searcy passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. She was born in Chilicothe, Missouri on September 10, 1951. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and daughter, who loved her family and was always there to lend a helping hand. Mary was devoted to her Catholic faith and was very active in the church teaching religious education, serving as a Eucharistic minister or Perpetual Adoration member and participated in numerous other church activities. Mary gave selflessly of her time volunteering at the schools her children attended, supporting their extracurricular activities and volunteering for several years at Schertz library. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Leland E. Farmer. She is survived by her husband, Michael E. Searcy; children, Michael Sparkman & wife, Anita, Jeffrey Searcy & wife, Jessie and Amanda Searcy; grandchildren, Landon Searcy and Trinity Sparkman (expecting arrival soon); mother, Irene Farmer; mother-in-law, Doreen Searcy; brothers, William Farmer & wife, Debbie and Bruce Farmer; sister-in-law, Debbie Searcy; aunt, Violet Margly; nephews, Chris Farmer, Brandon Moore, Eric Edwin and Mark Searcy; great-nephew, Zak Farmer, as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends. A Visitation and Rosary was held Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Schertz, Texas. A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, January 25, 2010, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church led by Father Greg Nevlud. Mary is loved dearly by her family and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers the family had requested any donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Schertz Public Library or The Good Shepherd Church in Schertz, Texas.
