Mary Jo Bishop Huff, affectionately known as "Omi" by her loved ones, was born on December 24, 1946. She passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on November 23, 2024 at the age of 77, surrounded by her loving family. A woman of unwavering faith and unconditional love, Mary Jo devoted her life to being a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Mary Jo was the beloved wife of Michael Huff, with whom she shared 47 years of joy, laughter, and faith. Together, they built a family rooted in love and respect. Mary Jo’s devotion to her family was evident in every part of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael; her sons, James Montanio and wife Maria Montanio, Shayne Montanio and wife Georgianna Montanio; her daughter, Darcy Huff; and her stepson, Timothy O’Ryan Huff and wife Shelly Huff. Mary Jo was a proud and doting grandmother to Ashley Montanio, Jayson Joseph Montanio, Shandi Reyes, Shelbie Jones, Addie Whitaker, Zachary Huff, Christian Huff and Katelyn Huff. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Dylan, Camden, Jaiden, Julian, Joslyn, Jordan, Braxton, Kelso, Brett, Tate, Kamry, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

Mary Jo is also survived by her brother, Reecie Bishop, and wife Coz, along with several nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and unshakable faith. Mary Jo’s legacy will live on through her family, who will forever cherish the values and lessons she instilled in them.

Mary Jo was a woman who found joy in serving others and making a difference in every life she touched. She made fashion statements as a devoted employee of Dillard’s for over 25 years, where she was known for her impeccable style and warm personality. Upon retirement, Mary Jo found happiness in crafting, often spending her time at Hobby Lobby and creating beautiful wreaths and handmade gifts for her family and friends. Her creativity and thoughtfulness were gifts that brightened the lives of those around her.

A proud member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Mary Jo’s faith was the foundation of her life. Her heart was a constant source of encouragement and comfort to all who knew her, and she exemplified love, compassion, and service in all that she did.

A visitation in celebration of Mary Jo's life will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on December 4, 2024. Closed family visitation will take place from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, followed by visitation for her beloved friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial services will be held on December 5, 2024, at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park at 10:30 AM.

Mary Jo’s family finds peace in knowing she is now in the presence of our Lord, reunited with her loved ones, and free from pain. Her radiant spirit, unyielding faith, and selfless love will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew her.
