Mary Elder

December 7, 1944 — September 8, 2012

Mary Schmidt Elder born on December 7, 1944 was called to Jesus on September 8, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Donald Elder. Mary was a loving mother of two children, Randy Elder, Dawn Culwell and devoted daughter-in-law, Wendy Elder. She had a very special relationship with her grandchildren; Branden Elder, Amanda Litt, Colten Elder and Garrett Culwell; and two great grandchildren on the way. She was a devoted employee at Lubys corporate headquarters for 15 years in the accounting department. One of the things she enjoyed most was cooking and had a vast collection of cookbooks. Mary loved to spoil her family with many of her specialties, including her fried chicken and chocolate chip cookies. She was a warm, loving, and devoted mother and grandmother and touched everyone who knew her, by her generosity. Services will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Schertz, Texas on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 10:00am.
