Mary Cosgrove

March 22, 1942 — August 29, 2014

After battling cancer for 14 years, Beth went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2014. She was born on March 22, 1942, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to Francis and Frances Kohl. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill, her son Michael (Rhonda), her daughter Kathlyn (Frank), stepson Bob, stepdaughter Colleen, stepson Brian, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her sister Barbara Smith, and her brother Francis Kohl. While working civil service in Leavenworth, Beth met her husband Bill, an Army Officer. After marrying in May of 1971, they took off on an adventure of a lifetime. They first traveled to different parts of the globe for the Army and then settled in San Antonio, to raise their family. Beth's favorite roles were being a mother and Nana. Along with nurturing her family, Beth was also a great servant and participant in the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. A fantastic artist, Beth was so talented that she could easily pull off any creative endeavor that she attempted. She truly enjoyed teaching and her passion was realized when she began instructing an adult art class. If you look up in the sky and notice a particularly stunning sunset or view, please know that Beth is up there lending her great artistic hand to the lord. Beth's kindness, compassion, and beautiful smile will be fondly remembered. Her mischievous sense of humor and quick wit brought joy to many. You could go through life without ever having met somebody like Beth and many lives are that much greater because they were touched by her. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Schertz Funeral Home from 5:00PM - 8:00PM with a rosary from 7:00PM - 8:00PM. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 8, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 9:30AM with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
