Mary Micki Christy of Schertz, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2011. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Clayton Chris Christy; her parents, Edward J. and Susanna OKeefe; her brothers, Harold and Edward OKeefe; her sister, Sister Elizabeth OKeefe (Sister of Mercy); her brother-in-law, Robert Cardwell; and her sister-in-law, Ruby OKeefe. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Steven Flanagan, and grandson Sean Flanagan, of Schertz, Texas; sister-in-law, Beth Grant of St. John's, Newfoundland; brother Patrick OKeefe of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, Canada; sister Laura Cardwell, and sister and brother-in law, Sharron and Otto Byrne, of St. Johns, Newfoundland; sister Bertha Aymond of Port Barre, Louisiana; nieces and nephews in Canada and Louisiana; and her caretaker since 2010, Pamela Trevino, of Bulverde, Texas. Micki was born and raised in St. Johns, Newfoundland. She devoted 36 years of her life to Good Shepherd Church, Schertz, and its mission church, Immaculate Conception Church, Marion, serving as Parish Secretary from 1973-2009 and also as Director of Religious Education until 1993. Good Shepherd Church has honored Micki and her husband, Chris, by the naming of its Parish Hall as Christy Hall , in memory of their many years of dedicated, faithful, and loyal service. A rosary will be celebrated at 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Good Shepherd Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 2, 2012, at Good Shepherd Church, followed by a luncheon at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Schertz Parkway.
