Martina Mendez, age 92 of Marion, TX, passed away on November 30, 2010. Martina is preceded in death by her parents, Anselmo and Paz Hernandez; husband, Elueterio Mendez and her sister, Ninfa Rosas. She is survived by her children, Johnny Mendez and Mary Gonzalez, both of Marion; siblings, Ruben Hernandez, Anselmo Hernandez, Jr, David Hernandez, Celestino Hernandez, Victoria Garcia, Elena Lopez and Evangelina Puente; grandchildren, John Michael Mendez, Melissa Garcia, Jonathan Gilbert Delgado, Anthony James Gonzalez, Megan Elizabeth Delgado, Christopher Martin Gonzalez, Samuel Mendez and Amanda Kathleen Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Victor Cash Mendez and Lilly Ashlyn Garcia. Martina was a member of Immaculate Conception Ladies Guild. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother, and she loved to sew and cook. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM (with a Rosary to be Recited at 7:00 PM) on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home. Mass will be Celebrated at 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marion. Interment will follow at Marion Community Cemetery.
