Mark Seibert

June 16, 1962 — January 11, 2021

1 John 5:11 , NIV “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

Mark Kevin Seibert of San Antonio, age 58, passed away January 11, 2021. He was born in Lubbock, Tx on June 16,1962 to John and Lois Seibert.  Mark’s early education was in Lubbock and College Station - then the family moved to San Antonio in 1972.  Mark graduated from Churchill High School in 1980 and went on to study at Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at San Antonio.  His passion for soccer developed in high school and continued throughout his life.  He started playing soccer for  North East Youth Soccer Organization and continued to compete at the International Level on the International 61 Men’s Team.

mks Mark’s professional career included growing his own architectural and contract management services business - MKS Associates, Inc. Over the past 20 years, MKS Associates, Inc. grew into one of the most respected architectural firms specializing in healthcare, medical, professional and commercial projects.  Mark was a member of the American Institute of Architects and American Institute of Building Design. MKS Associates, Inc. was known for many projects in many different facilities but he was proudest of the work MKS Associates, Inc. completed at Christus Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital.

Mark enjoyed his work, starting with the conception to the completion of many projects over the years, but his love was his family and friends.  He enjoyed tennis, golf, soccer, fishing, a little gambling when he had the chance, a good dart game, and many animals which allowed him to meet wonderful friends that became family.  Holiday Beach, Tx was his little Piece of Paradise where he spent time making countless memories with his wife Cheryl and many family and friends.  He was known for his fun sense of humor, kindness, and devotion to his family.  All those around, including the pets, knew him for his love of food, whether dining out or cooking on the grill.  There was never a place Mark would go that he did not run into someone he knew whether it was from school, work, or the many sports and activities he loved.  Wherever Mark was he was the life of the party and he made sure everyone had a good time.

Mark is survived by his parents, John and Lois Seibert, and loving wife Cheryl. He is survived by his son Kevin Seibert; daughter-in-law, Victoria; daughter Krisanie Seibert; daughter Alysha Kinsel; son-in-law, Landon; daughter Christie Kinsel; daughter Jennifer Keller; son-in-law, Brandon. Four grandchildren: Gavin and Bailey Seibert, Luke and Layton Keller.  His sister Karen; brother-in-law Ronnie Oefinger.  His niece Lauren Oefinger; niece Lindsey Blanchard and family: Kevin, Cole, Hayes, and Avery; His nephew Ryan and family: Lindsey Lee and Finley; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the medical staff who cared for Mark.  A special thanks goes out to Dr. Gary Hall with Alamo City Surgeons, Dr. Wassim K. Choucair with Heart and Rhythm Institute of South Texas, and Trey Gaiennie DNP, FNP-C with Baptist Health Systems.

A visitation will be held from 4PM - 8PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.  We invite all family and friends to wear their fishing shirts on Tuesday as a remembrance of Mark.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation, in Mark's name, to CHRISTUS Foundation for Healthcare or a charity of your choice.
