Mark Douglas Armstrong passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on July 27, 2023, at the age of 51, after a brief battle with brain stem cancer. Mark was born on January 21, 1972, at Wilford Hall in San Antonio to Pansy and Wade Armstrong Jr. He grew up in Helotes, Texas, and graduated from John Marshall High School and Texas Tech University.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Sally Armstrong, and their cherished children, Max (12) and Mary (10). He also leaves behind his brothers, Wade III (Caroline) and Glenn (Paige); sisters, Linda Armstrong, Sharon Hanson (Tim), and Debbie DeWinne (Ernie); nephews, Luke Armstrong (Kami), Dustan DeWinne (Brooke) and Dalton DeWinne (Katy Beth); nieces, Misty Simmang, and Madison DeWinne; mother-in-laws Ginger Stanfield, and Stephanie Stanfield; brother-in-laws Joe Stanfield, and Glenn Stanfield; nephews-in-law, Dean and Bodie; nieces-in-law, Brylee, and Brooklyn; as well as numerous other family members and friends. Mark is preceded in death and has joined in heaven his parents, Wade and Pansy Armstrong, and his father-in-law, Jerry Stanfield.
Mark was a dedicated family man with a passion for cooking, dancing, listening to country music, hunting, fishing and spending time at the beach or outdoors. He was a devoted Mason serving as a Master of Randolph Masonic Lodge #1268 from 2021-2022. He was a Master Mason for over 7 years, held numerous offices, and was instrumental in setting up blood drives and other events within and around the lodge. He also served as a Cub Scouts Den Leader from 2017-2022.
Mark Armstrong will be remembered as a man of compassion, dedication, and leadership. He touched the lives of many through his selfless contributions and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
