A truly wonderful, Christian lady, Marilyn A. Barnett Moore passed into the arms of our Lord on this 3rd day of November, 2015. She was blessed at birth with two loving parents, Claude Dennis Barnett and Eddie J. Bundick Barnett on August 11, 1934 in Smiley, Texas. She was surrounded by loving grandparents, Mary Ann Elm Bundick, Simeon Louis & Maggie Copeland Barnett. As a child, Marilyn was always very bright, she was a great student and was loved by all who had the privilege of meeting her. She spread joy and love to every life she touched. She married and had three children, Gwendolyn, Darlene, and Steven. She raised her children in a loving home and provided for them as a working mother. She worked for Longhorn Portland Cement for 38 years and was known affectionately as Ms. Longhorn. She enjoyed working with Mr. Gaines Voight as his executive secretary for many years, and when Longhorn was acquired by another company, she spent many years working as an executive secretary for Mr. Dean Word at Dean Word Co. She had many great years in the work force, during which time, she was an active member of the American Business Women's Association and Women in Construction. Marilyn was very involved in her community as well, serving as Treasurer for many years for Northern Hills HOA. She loved and was loved unconditionally by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephew, and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by two infant brothers, her parents, and grandparents, husband Bill Joy, son Steven Moore, eleven biological uncles and their wives. Mourning her loss are daughters, Gwendolyn (Samuel) Shearrer, Darlene (Robert) Stewart; grandchildren, Cynthia Campbell (Fiancé James Moczygemba), Skye Van (Carolina) Ferguson, Deborah (Eric) Brennan, Joshua (Emily) Caballero, Jennifer Becerra (Fiancé Tommy Lee), Tamara (Brian) Nix, Curtis (Laura) Andrus; Great Grandchildren, Cameron (Adriana), Jordan (Jeniece), Madison, Mason, Aaron, Tanis, Raydon, Jacob, John, Whitney, Garrett, Aiden, Will, Bella, Kari, Ronald Jr., Alexandria, Andrea, and Aubrey; Great - Great Grandchildren, Ivan, Logan, Isabella; sister, Vera Barnett Sessions Weston; aunt, Thelma O'Neal Barnett; nieces, Jennifer Andrus, Marilyn (Dennis) Mayton; nephew, JR (Barbara) Sessions; Cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX 78154, on Saturday, the 7th day of November, 2015 at 2:00PM, with the visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Procession to Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218, will follow service.
