Maria Teresa Garcia Simo passed away on August 26, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on April 27, 1926 in Raymondville, Texas. Throughout her 89 years, she worked as the first Hispanic bank teller, and went on to become an officer at the Raymondville State Bank in Raymondville, Texas, where she was faithfully employed for 35 years. She then volunteered her service at the Raymondville Chamber of Commerce. Maria Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe S. Garcia, and Micaela Garcia; and husband, Joe Simo. Survivors include her children, Joe Simo and wife, Suzanne of Dallas, Texas, Nilda Simo Frias and husband, John Frias of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Katrina Leigh and husband, Chance, Andrew Simo, John David Frias and wife, Angelica, Christopher Frias and wife, Delanie, Anthony Frias, and Angelica Frias; great-grandchildren, Carter Leigh, Madison Leigh, and Gabriel Frias. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
