Maria G. McFarland, age 80 of Universal City (formerly of Laredo, Texas), passed away on April 5, 2010 in Schertz. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Reyes Ruiz, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Charles R. McFarland of Universal City, Texas; daughter, Laura M. McFarland & husband, Mark Reinhardt of Schertz; brothers, Miguel Ruiz, Sr. & wife, Yvonne and Reyes Ruiz, Jr. & wife, Yolanda, all of Laredo; grandchildren, Lauren Felder and Tiffany Felder of Schertz and numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was retired from the U.S. Civil Service. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM (with a Rosary being Recited at 7:00 PM) on Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Schertz, Texas. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
