Maria Landez

Maria E. (Ms. Vicki) Landez, was born on September 25, 1945, in Pharr, TX, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2017 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 71. She was a graduate of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School in Pharr, TX. She, Vicki, honorably and faithfully served with the United States Air Force as a civil servant for 31 years. Of those, the first 10 years were spent at Dyess Air Force Base, TX; Hickam Air Force Base, HI; and Eglin Air Force Base, FL. The last 21 years were spent at Headquarters Air Force Personnel Center, 12 Military Personnel Flight and Headquarters Air Force Recruiting Service. She always had a green thumb, she loved getting fresh flowers and working with her many plants, she also enjoyed walking and she was one who never met a stranger. She loved everyone with her whole heart. Vicki is preceded in death by her parents Reynaldo Sr. and Maria Jasso Garcia. She is survived by her husband Mar Landez; daughter Maria "Margo" Lara and husband Joe; brothers, Edelmiro and Reynaldo Garcia, Jr. and step-granddaughters Joeann and Joedee. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Schertz Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017, 10:00am, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma TX.
