Maria Magdalena "Maggie" Q. Cervantes, of Schertz, Texas, was called to the Lord Wednesday, April 13, 2016 surrounded by her family at the age of 69. Born April 18, 1946 in Weslaco, Texas to Julian and Evangelina Quiroz. Maggie's passion for the medical field led her to a long career as a Nursing Assistant and OB Surgical Technician in Labor & Delivery/Mother & baby departments in Illinois and Texas for over 35 years. Maggie is predeceased by her parents Julian and Evangelina Quiroz, her son, Armando Rodriguez and siblings Roberto and Ramon Quiroz. She is survived by five of her six children: son Alvaro Gavino Rodriguez Quiroz and wife Margarita; daughter's, Alma Salinas, Elida Guidry and husband James, Laura Vuncannon and husband Bill, and Jessica Preece and husband Justin; Grandchildren, Hector, Mayra, Monica, Maria Magdalena, Albert Joe, Jesus Julian, Anthony, James, Alexis, Elida Iyvette, Juan Jose, Nelda Lilliana, and Tristan Blake; Great�Grandchildren, Denis, Montzerrath, Alessandra, Noelle, Zoe, Albert Jacob, Penelope, Estelle, and Juan Jose Jr.; siblings, Vica, Carlos, Israel, Ellio, George, Hugo, Hilda, Heva, Heber. Along with numerous nieces and nephews, stretching from California, Indiana, Texas, Hawaii, Mexico, and Spain. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 9:00AM to 12:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home with the Funeral service to begin at 12 Noon. A meal reception will follow at the First Baptist Church of Schertz from 1:30PM to 5:00PM.
