Marcia Stewart

Marcia Stephanie Stewart was born February 4, 1958, in St. Andrew, Jamaica to the late Gladstone and Casilda Lyn. In 1979, at the lively age of 21, Marcia found herself in the United States away from her beloved homeland for the first time. During her first 13 years in the U.S., she had two sons and developed a love for bowling and traveling. In 1993, while bowling in the Transit League, she met Daniel Stewart and four years later, in 1997, they were married and blessed with a son of their own. Marcia is survived by her husband Daniel Stewart, her children, Cornelius Wayne Morris III, Maurice Morris, Shyala Stewart, and Isaiah Stewart, and her siblings, Omar Lyn and Francine Lyn. Her legacy continues through her 15 grandchildren: Tia, Quincy, Sophia, Kenyatta, Quannel, Justyn, Zaisha, Zeke, Mimi, Gio, Nehemiah, Jonathan, Jeveah, Kobe, and Gianna, and two great grandchildren, Tori and Evelyn. Her best friends, Jackie Miller, Kisa Washington, and Genie Ramirez, will miss having her in their lives along with a large extended family, close co-workers, and bowling friends.

Although we are grieving this loss, we know Psalms 91:1-2 to be true: “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.”

The Visitation will take place at Schertz Funeral Home on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
