Manuel P. Rios

May 10, 1943 — August 25, 2024

Cibolo, Texas

Manuel P. Rios, affectionately known as Manny, was born in Alice, Texas, on May 10, 1943, and went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2024, in Cibolo, Texas, surrounded by his beloved family. As a devoted husband, father, and friend, Manny's life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and resilience.

Manny's deep-seated faith was a cornerstone of his character. A devout catholic, he had never missed a day of praying the rosary, often being seen in the quiet reflection on his porch, connecting with his faith reciting the rosary. His unwavering devotion to God was evident throughout his life, having graduated from Alice High School and attending six years at St. Joseph’s Catholic school where his spirit flourished in fellowship and service.

A passionate sports fan, Manny especially loved the  Dallas Cowboys. Additionally, he cherished the companionship of his beloved beagle, Santi, whose playful spirit mirrored the joy Manny found in life's simple pleasures.

Manny was a loving husband to his loving wife, Alice Martinez Rios, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge. He was a proud father to his children  Roslyn R. Rios, Richard E. Rios, Roland D. Rios and Ronaldo Rios—who carry forward his legacy of love and integrity. Throughout the years, he remained close to his siblings, Virginia Azzano, Melissa Rios, and his adoptive brother Pete Perez, creating memories that will stay with them forever. Also survived by his grandchildren Jonathan Gabriel Morin and Matthew Allen Morin, and his first wife, Lydia P. Rios.

Manny's journey was not without its trials. He faced a long struggle with cancer, but even in the face of adversity, his spirit remained unbroken. He was met with the comfort of his family and the loving memories of those who preceded him in death, including his son Ronaldo Rios, mother Librada, father Ricardo, stepmother Naomi G., sister Lydia Canales.

Manny's presence brightened the lives of everyone who knew him. He touched hearts with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith in the goodness of people. As those who loved him gather to celebrate his remarkable life, they carry forward the lessons he imparted: to love freely, to pray faithfully, and to embrace each day with gratitude.
