Lynnette Mccollum

Lynnette "Lynn" Lee (Sverdsten) McCollum, born February 26, 1957 in Coeur d' Alene, ID, passed away on July 14, 2015, in San Antonio, TX at the age of 58. She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Marlyce Sverdsten. Survivors include her husband Dr. Robert S. McCollum; stepsons, Stephen and wife Alison, Marcus, and Tim Ott and wife Windy; sister Marcy Hasz and husband Fred and their daughter Josalyn; grandchildren, Matthew, Charlotte, Olivia, Lena, Annaleise, Charlie Finn, Lana Jane, Josie Mae, and several extended family members here in San Antonio, and the states of Idaho and Washington. Lynn was part of the Army's Installation Management Command ( IMCOM) as the Director of Family Programs (Army Community Services) for the past 7 years of her 18 year career with the US Army. Prior to joining civil service, Lynn was a licensed professional social worker, who worked as a emergency services Mental Health Professional for the county of Spakane, WA. She spent several years in Europe as a civilian working for the US Army, she and her husband traveled extensively and did much shopping, eating, and enjoying the European life style. Lynn loved to shop, working in her yard, and going to the movies, and she was a great Spurs fan with Tony Parker being her favorite player. Lynn was a very caring and loving wife and always available to the people around her, being compassionate, empathetic, and very grounded when encountering her staff and loved ones. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00am with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 noon. All services will conclude in the chapel. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
