Lula Malaer

July 22, 1935 — March 3, 2014

Lula Olivia Keefer Malaer of Schertz, age 78, passed away on March 3, 2014. Lula was born in Santa Anna, TX, on July 22, 1935, to David Ray & Eula Mae Keefer. She was married to her best friend Wayne Malaer for almost 60 years. Lula was a military wife and an amazing mother who passionately loved the Lord and her family. Lula was an active member of Trinity Church for 38 years. She loved to spend time and cook with her family, travel, sew, visit friends all over the country and her smile could light up a room. Survivors include her husband Wayne, daughters Loretta Watson (Paul), Vilinda Guetzkow (Steve), Jackie Taylor and Mae Sturdy (Roger), 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her siblings Eula Rae Bailey, Geneva Adams, Austin Keefer, Albert Keefer, Kathileen Stevens, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Owen, and a great-granddaughter Emily June. Visitation will be Friday, March 7, 2014, from 5:00-9:00 pm, at Schertz Funeral Home. A service to honor Lula's life will be held Saturday, March 8, at 10:00 am, at Trinity Church (5415 North Loop 1604 East). Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;? but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:28-31
