Lucille (Lucy) Taylor Sills, 71, of Schertz, Texas passed away on August 16, 2017. Lucy was born on August 29, 1945 in Santa Barbara, California to James Carl & Helen Newton Taylor. She is preceded in death by both her parents. Lucy is survived by her children Debbie (Larry) Carrell, Michael (Angela) Sills, and Patrick (Cortney) Sills; siblings Jane Taylor (Bud) Alberts and James Carl (Kathy) Taylor, Jr. Other survivors are grandchildren Michael, Emily, Jordan, and Preston; and great grandchild Samantha.

Lucy graduated from W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi in 1963. She then continued her education at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi and Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She married Larry Sills on April 17, 1965, and they moved to California to live near Larry's family. Later, they returned to Texas in 1971 and lived in the San Antonio area. They were married for 16 years. She worked in the accounting department of the Corporate office of Handy Dan for many years. She went on to own her own business by buying a local sports pub called "The Yellow Rose." Lucy created an atmosphere where people felt they could come and be with family and friends. She hosted Chili cook-offs outdoors to support disabled children's charities. She held other accounting positions in San Antonio and Austin, returning to San Antonio in 2010 when she retired.

The celebration of life for Lucy will be held on Monday, August 21, 2017, at 10:00 am at Schertz Funeral Home in Schertz, Texas. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca (Buda), Texas, 10739-10799 Twin Creeks Road, Manchaca, Texas 78652.
