Lucia Franc Delcambre entered rest with her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 5, after 86 years on earth. She was born October 11, 1930 in Mobile, AL where she graduated high school. She married Eves Delcambre in 1949 and they settled in Bayou La Batre, AL where they raised two sons and a daughter before moving to San Antonio in 1967. Lucia joined the Frost Bank staff as a clerk and was promoted to an assistant vice president position before retiring after 25 years of service. She is remembered for her gracious smile, the kindness in her greeting cards which always included a hand-written Bible verse reference and for her exceptional culinary skills serving seafood gumbo, roast beef with carrots and potatoes and other wonderful dishes. ucia is survived by her daughter and husband, Sandra Lynn and Nathan Sherman, San Antonio, her son and his wife, Charles and Debbie Delcambre, Fancy Gap, VA; her daughter-in-law Susan Rainey and her husband Jim; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Brian Sherman and wife, Gretchen and their three daughters, Natalie, Nicole and Noelle; Jonathan Delcambre and wife, Shannon and their three sons, Christopher, Jackson and Sutton; Timothy Delcambre, Danielle Delcambre and Annelise Delcambre. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eves "Two Strike" Delcambre; son, Christopher Geary Delcambre and granddaughter, Paula Lynn Sherman.
Visitation will be at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX from 5 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 14. Graveside services will be at 9:30 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 15.
