Lt. Col. Homer F. Maurer, U.S. Air Force, Retired, age 87 of Marion, passed away on January 29, 2008. He is survived by sons, Lt.Col. Kim Maurer (USAF retired) & wife, Susan, Marion, Robert Maurer & wife, Savannah, New Braunfels and Erick Maurer & wife, Chris, Sinton; daughters, Lt.Col. Deborah L. Maurer (USAF retired), Marion, Allyson Laws & husband, Robert, Redmond, WA and Marguerite M. Pepper & husband, Dr. Ryan, Houston; sister, Jean Scharenburg & husband, Ted, Columbus, OH and grandchildren, Kacy Sue Maurer, A1C Daniel Brent David, USAF, Anthony Robert David, Collin Ryan Franklin Pepper, William R.H. Laws, Kyle Maurer, Lindsey Maurer, Larissa Maurer and Lauren Ericka Maurer. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 1, 2008 at The Country Church, Marion with Pastor Butch Ikels officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, February 4, 2008 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
