Louis Karl Jacobsen of Selma, TX, born on December 8, 1930, passed away on May 4, 2015 at the age of 84. Louis was a Mechanical Engineer all his life. He worked for Boeing and designed some of the Hydraulics on the Saturn V Rocket for NASA. Also he designed bridge forms for the Houston Ship Channel for Burke Forms. Louis decided to go into business for himself and was the owner of Southwest Automatic Sprinkler System until he sold it off and finally went to work for Dee Howard where he designed reverse thrusters on Jet engines until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his wife, Orpha Jacobsen; son, Kennet Karl Jacobsen; granddaughter, Kimberly Marie Jacobsen; parents, Theodore Jacobsen and Louise Johansen- Jacobsen; brothers, Kenneth Jacobsen and John Jacobsen; sisters, Alta Reed and Osma Frescholtz. Survivors include his sons, Richard Jacobsen and wife Darlene of Marion,TX, Arthur Jacobsen and wife Toni of New Braunfels,TX; grandchildren, Christina Basha and husband Jon, Christopher Jacobsen and girlfriend Ashley Meadows, Ashley Jacobsen and Bradley Jacobsen all of Marion, TX, Kennet Jacobsen, Ryan Jacobsen and Sydney Jacobsen all of New Braunfels; one great granddaughter, Annabelle Basha; sister-in-law, Sylvia Strey of Cibolo,TX; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 5:00PM-9:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Paul Evangelical Church in Cibolo, TX with Reverend Barney Federwisch officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul Evangelical Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Evangelical Church in Cibolo, Texas.
