Lizzie O. Kendall died in Katy, Texas on June 13, 2019, at the age of 78. She grew up in Georgia, where, in elementary school, she met her husband, Fred, to whom she was married for 55 years. She loved music, literature, and poetry. She held a master's degree in education, and she was an English teacher in the San Antonio Independent School District for two decades, and at schools in the Midwest and Asia for over a decade before that. She was one of the earliest members of Resurrection Baptist Church (RBC), where she helped start and lead the evangelism training and Christian education ministries, and where she served as Superintendent of Sunday School, Deacon Wives Training Facilitator, RBC Leadership Trainer, and in many other capacities.
These illustrious titles and accomplishments pale in comparison to the true impact that she made in people's lives. She never hesitated to give of herself--her time, resources, wisdom, and attention--to help those in need. Above all, she loved her family, friends, and everyone else with an unconditional love that no doubt made Christ proud. She is with Him now, receiving her crowns.
If you knew Lizz, then you know that she was a loving and faithful wife, an amazing and selfless mother and grandmother, a supportive and giving family member, an extraordinary teacher, a true friend, and a blessing to her church community. If you did not know her, then you missed out on an incredible opportunity to have someone in your life who demonstrated in word and deed what following Christ is all about. She will be forever remembered and dearly missed.
She is survived by members of her loving family: Fred Kendall, husband; Lowell Scott (Veronda) Kendall, son; Aimee Kendall (Kirby) Roundtree, daughter; Ashley, Carlton, Bria, Grant, Chloe, and Grace Kendall, and Zachary Roundtree, grandchildren; Gracie O. Douglas, sister; the Kendalls, Outlers, Childs, Montgomerys, Walkers, Youngs, Zeeks, and others in her extended family; Resurrection Baptist, her church family; and many friends and colleagues. She is reunited in Heaven with Levorgia and Oteal, parents; Carlton (Michelle) Kendall, son; Charles W. Outler, brother; and other friends and family in Christ.
