Lisa Scoggins

Lisa Janeen Scoggins, age 55 of Universal City, TX, passed away on August 26, 2017. She was born in Everett, PA to the late Stanley J. Potts and Elsie E. Pepple Potts on February 17, 1962.

Lisa's childhood years in Pennsylvania included many good times spent with her family, relatives and family friends. Following her graduation from Everett High School, she attended The Pennsylvania State University where she graduated in 1984 with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering.

A veteran, Lisa served six years as an officer in the United States Air Force. It was during Air Force training in San Antonio in 1985 that she and Terrell met. The couple was married on August 29, 1987 and lived outside Dayton, Ohio for 3 years before moving to San Antonio in 1990.

Lisa was a loving and devoted wife and mother, raising 6 precious children. Lisa was passionate about learning and sharing her experiences with others regarding natural childbirth, mothering, homeschooling, and Biblically-based nutrition and health. Lisa used her gifts of hospitality and compassion to minister the love of Messiah to many different individuals. She was a dear friend to many, providing support and encouragement through difficult times.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Terrell E. Scoggins, and their 6 children, Sarah, Jacob, John, Rebekah, Deborah, and Joseph Scoggins; her sister, Carol Clabaugh; her two nieces, Tammy Gelvin and Julie Jacobs and their families.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-9:00PM on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Journey Fellowship Church, with Graveside Services following at 2:00PM at Mission Park Retama Cemetery.
