Linda Herring

Linda Kaye Herring, 72, passed away on Monday, April 23 after her courageous battle with brain cancer. She passed peacefully with all of her children by her side. Linda was born on January 15, 1946, in Denver, Colorado to Nels Walter and Dale Nelson. In 1977 she moved to San Antonio where she worked as a Logistics Analyst in the food industry for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, her grandchildren and her many pets over the years including her two dachshunds, Diesel and Olivia. She was a sports enthusiast and loved to read in her free time. She also enjoyed attending weekly services at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Universal City, Texas.

She is survived by her children, Tim Henderson & wife Tawnie, Lisa Gomez & husband Sonny, Klancee Honea & husband Brian, her grandchildren Miranda Gomez, Marisa Gomez and Kendra Henderson, all from the San Antonio area, her brother Nels T. Nelson of Kingsport, Tennessee as well as 2 nephews and a niece.

She is preceded in death by her parents Nels and Dale Nelson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, her late husband Ernest Kimball Henderson and her second husband Howell G. Herring.

She will be missed by so many as she touched the lives of everyone that crossed her path.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2018 in the Schertz Funeral Home Stateroom 3:00PM - 6:00PM. A Funeral Service will be Monday, April 30, 2018 at 10:00AM at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with the interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
