Linda Batista Dominguez

February 24, 1935 — May 27, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Linda Batista Dominguez. She died in her sleep at her home in Schertz, Texas on May 27, 2024, at the age of 89.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She dedicated her life to her family - always there to provide a listening ear, a warm embrace, endless support, loving care, and delicious meals. She loved and cared for all her pets throughout the years. Strays always had a home with Linda. She was a faithful Catholic and was an active member of Good Shepherd Church. She spent over 30 years serving her parish as a member of the daily adoration ministry. She was also a member of the bereavement committee for many years after that.

She was born in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico on February 24,1935 and left school at a young age to help her family. In 1957, while she was working for a family in El Paso, she met a charismatic Airman 1st class in the US Air Force named Alejandro. Linda was beautiful, kindhearted, and an excellent cook (especially her famous flour tortillas). They started dating, fell in love, and married on August 2,1958, at Biggs AFB. Linda and Alejandro enjoyed a loving marriage for 66 years. Together they raised their family in many locations over Alejandro's 22-year Air Force career, but settled down in Schertz, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Angel Batista and Dina Arriaga Batista; and her sisters, Manuela Morales and Marica Garcia. She is survived by her loving husband, Alejandro Dominguez; children, Hilda D. Hall and husband David, Dena D. Arenas, and Al Dominguez and wife Paulina; grandchildren, Joe I. Arenas, Lauren A. Swilling and husband Paul, Jason Arenas, Alec Z. Dominguez, Ethan C. Dominguez, Chase A. Dominguez; great grandchildren Sophia G. Arenas, Kamryn R. Arenas, Parker L. Haynes, Valerie S.
