Linda Cartwright

Linda Darlene Cartwright, age 63, passed away on September 23, 2021, in Floresville, Texas. Linda was born on April 11, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas to Orbie and Louie Mae Merritt. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, William (Bill) Cartwright (husband of 20 years), and niece Rachel Stone.
Linda was an active member of Salem Sayers Baptist Church where she helped in the following ministries: Wednesday Night Supper’s for AWANA program, Youth Ministry, Operation Christmas Child, Salem Sayers Academy, and Vacation Bible School. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who brought her much joy throughout her life. She enjoyed being at home and living a spirited and comical life.
She is survived by her sisters Gloria Katzer (Arnold), Schirleen Weller (Michael Sr.), and Dorothy Lee Pantuso (John Jr.) as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Brook Army Medical Center for their care of Linda in the final weeks of her life. They would also like to thank Embrace Hospice for their handling of Linda’s care when she was able to return home. You all made her life much more comfortable and for this we are eternally grateful.

A Visitation will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 5:00-9:00 PM. A Funeral will be held at Schertz Funeral Home the following day, Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:30 AM with the Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
